Red lipstick. Was there ever a more compact, fabulous, can-go-from-dull-to-DYNAMITE-in-two-minutes-flat accessory?!

If so, I want to hear about it!

I have been wearing Tom Ford lipstick ever since my sister Marietta gave me my first coral shade a few years ago.

I was dubious as to the value in buying a lipstick which rang in at around the £30 mark, but after my first try, I was hooked.

The formula of Tom Ford lipsticks is so long lasting, I’ve found myself wearing the same coat from morning through till the evening, with minor top ups only. The matte versions can be a little drying, so I like to prep my lips with a balm before hand. My favourite is from Burts Bees.

The Tom Ford packaging is my favourite amongst high-end beauty brands. Glamorous, masculine (sounds incongruous for a lipstick – but it’s gorgeous!), and for sure my favourite casing to display on my beauty table.

The beauty table which, BTW, in my dreams looks like this.

And duh, Tom Ford lipsticks look really pretty on Instagram too.

My favourite way to wear red lips is either nonchalantly with a causal outfit (oh hey Ashley – third look down is heaven to me!) – at which point a flick of black liquid eyeliner can also come into play, or with a gorgeous evening look. If I am wearing red lips in the evening, I tend to ditch the eyeliner, and focus on lashes, and a bronzy eye colour.

Have you tried Tom Ford beauty yet? What’s your favourite way to wear red lips?

The Elgin Avenue’s Pinterest now has a dedicated Lipstick Board, head on over for a peruse of our favourite looks!

Oh, and if you’ve been trying to comment on The Elgin Avenue recently I am so sorry!
