During the winter months it can be challenging to keep your skin hydrated.
Environmental factors like central heating and a drop in outdoor air temperature can cause your skin to dry out.
When the outdoor air is dry and cold, the water in your skin evaporates more quickly. Throw central heating into the mix and, without a few steps in between, your skin can feel dry, tight and lacklustre.
Not ideal, right?
If, like me, you are obsessed with hydrated glow-y skin all year round, I hope that sharing my hydrating winter skincare routine can help!
I’m super excited to have partnered with Jurlique on this post. Jurlique’s Rare Rose Moisture Plus range has been a game-changer for me this winter.
My Hydrating Skincare Routine
Now that the winter months have truly settled in, I’m in need of a hydrating skincare routine that can truly rejuvenate the look and feel of my skin, even in the harshest of conditions.
You may have noticed on my Instagram stories that I’ve recently been using Jurlique’s Rare Rose Moisture Plus range.
I’ve been a long-time fan of Jurlique’s Rosewater Balancing Mist (I keep mine in the fridge so it’s extra refreshing! So good!) and I just recently started using more products from the Rare Rose range.
Though I’ve kept the rest of my skincare routine consistent (same cleansers, masks etc), I’ve changed up my serums and moisturisers in favour of Jurlique’s products since they’re intensely hydrating.
Here’s my hydrating skincare routine AM through to PM right now
In the morning . . .
Did you know that taking a hot shower or bath can dry your skin out?! It sounds counterintuitive that being in water would dry your skin out, but long hot showers can strip your skin of its natural oils.
To combat this, the first thing I do when I get out of the shower is apply Jurlique’s Moisture Plus Rare Rose Lotion to my face. The lotion is light but intensely moisturising, and smells amazing.
All of Jurlique’s ingredients are derived from hand-picked plants from their own farm in South Australia, so you can be assured of the potency of the formulas you’re using.
The next step in my hydrating skincare routine is Jurlique’s Moisture Plus Rare Rose Cream. This is SO good I’ve even got Oli onto it! Ha!
When it comes to a daily moisturiser, I want something super effective, and my skin literally drinks this in! The more hydrated my skin feels the better it looks and the easier it is to apply my makeup.
In the daytime . . .
If I’m in need of a moisture boost during the day I revert to Jurlique’s Rosewater Balancing Mist. At the moment I’m working mainly from our living room in my cosy little laptop nook, and there is a radiator right next to me. Though this is SUPER cosy, it means that my skin dries out during the day. A few spritzes of the Rosewater Mist delivers a much-needed dose of moisture, refreshes my makeup, and makes me feel more energised too.
In the evening . . .
I look forward to my evening skincare routine all day. Is that odd?! Ha!
There is something so relaxing and cathartic about removing my makeup, and layering on some of my favourite skincare products.
I double cleanse every evening to remove my makeup, using a hot cloth to do so. Similarly to a hot shower, a hot cloth can cause skin to dry out so I’m always keen to rehydrate my skin ASAP afterwards.
Jurlique’s Moisture Plus Rare Rose Serum smoothes and plumps out my skin, counteracting the dehydration of the day. I like to take my time applying the serum, really working it into my skin. It’s a short moment of ‘me time’ that I really appreciate!
Before bed I follow up with Jurlique’s Rare Rose Gel Cream. This formula is great if, like me, you have combination skin. A big boost of moisture right before bed feels so luxurious, and ensures that my skin is fully hydrated before I drift off. I always notice how effective my evening skincare is, by the way my skin looks in the morning. If it is plumped-out and glow-y I know I’m on to a winner, and I’m happy to report that of late my skin’s been feeling great thanks to Jurlique.
Whenever I use new skincare products I put them through the testing gambit before recommending them to you. I’ve been using Jurlique’s Rare Rose Moisture Plus range for over a month now (and the mist longgg before then), and I am so impressed.
The efficacy and values of the brand are all things I can get behind, not to mention that dreamy rose scent.
If you’re looking for a skincare range to help you to combat dry winter skin, I highly recommend checking out Jurlique.
What’s Your Take?
Have you used any of Jurlique’s products before? If so, which ones? I’d love to know!
Have you updated your skincare routine for winter?
Love, Monica x
