Making use of the HUGE number of photos I take, and create for the blog, has been something I’ve wanted to do for ages.
My camera roll and hard drive are full of frame-able pics! Yet making use of my photographs is something I so rarely do outside of my work.
It’s time to change that!
I’m so excited to partner with Snapfish today to share a few of the ways I’ve—finally!—been making use of the 31,492 photos on my phone.
(That’s my real number btw!)
Not to mention all of the beautiful shots I have on file from shooting for The Elgin Avenue too.
Making more of the images we capture is often something which comes up around New Year, so if it’s something you want to focus on in 2019 I hope you’ll find inspiration in this post too!
3 INNOVATIVE WAYS TO MAKE USE OF YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS
1 – A Personal Gallery
2018 turned out to be a really special year for Oli and I.
We moved into a new flat in February, got engaged in May and celebrated our 10th anniversary in November!
I wanted to commemorate this milestone year by having some of our favourite photos of the two of us printed and framed.
Before this we didn’t have a single photo of us up in our home! (Save for one polaroid from a friend’s wedding!)
Snapfish offer beautifully framed prints from £9.99! Such a steal!
I went for the 7×5” option which was £12.99, and I loved that both the printing and the framing was done for me.
We opted to go for black and white photographs so that the overall feel of our gallery would be cohesive. I got this tip from Emily Henderson and it works a charm!
You can easily change the colours of your photos on your phone (just choose the ‘edit’ function), or in an app like VSCO. You can upload photos to Snapfish from your phone, Facebook, Instagram, Google Pictures or you can create a Snapfish album. It’s so easy to select the images you want to use!
I’m so glad we’ve finally got some pictures of us printed and framed. Now we just need to decide where they’ll go . . . !
2 – Custom Thank You Cards
January is THE month of Thank You cards!
I’d never thought to create personalised cards before, but Snapfish make it so easy to upload your own images into a pre-made template. You can even add fun stickers into the mix if that’s your style.
There are so many customisable Thank You card options with Snapfish.
I chose a pretty painted swatch design, and uploaded a photo of our Christmas tree and decorations to the card.
As this was the first Christmas Oli and I celebrated in our new flat it felt extra special to be able to pop up an image of our home as part of our thank you notes.
The personalised cards would work so well for birthdays, or even wedding invitations!
3 – A Personalised Notebook
If you know me, you know that I LOVE a notebook! Pretty stationery makes my heart beat faster.
I am so happy to have been able to use one of my favourite photos from last year in a new guise.
This stunning image of violet-hued hydrangeas made for a perfect fit for a personalised notebook from Snapfish.
You can upload any image you like, and adjust the text to suit your message.
I went for my blog name, and my name, and it’s now my favourite notebook to scribble away all of my daily to-do lists and plans for the business.
This is such a great gift idea!
The new year is a great time to reflect on the 365 days that have just passed, and look towards the months ahead.
No doubt you’ll have memories from 2018 which you’d love to commemorate, and plans which you want to put in place for 2019!
Making use of photographs is such a great visual way to do just that, and I’m so glad that I’ve finally made use of my vast collection. And in so many different ways with Snapfish!
WHAT’S YOUR TAKE?
Would you like to make more use of your photos this year? If so, are you inspired by any of the ideas above?
I’d love to hear from you!
Love, Monica x
